I encourage everyone who is able to rescue or adopt pets in need. While not without challenge, Quincy and Hannah have changed my life immeasurably. While in isolation during the pandemic, these two sweethearts captured the imagination and spirit of 2 small elementary schools in New Jersey. They regularly appeared in my Read Alouds and became a part of our schools.
Mr. Quincy is the best little guy in the whole world. He absolutely loves read alouds and hanging in the "Book" Nook". We adopted him on Black Friday in 2016. He'd been in a shelter for the first year of his life and we are so happy he came home with us.
Sweet and sensitive, he is always up for cuddles and kisses. Before Hannah arrived, Quincy was the first ever Vice Principal of Strawbridge and Edison Elementary Schools. He would regularly appear in morning announcements and join car parades to the delight of the children
Sweet Hannah came to us in July of 2020. A former student of mine was fostering her after Hannah had a rough start. I hesitate to call her first days those of being with a family. She was chained to a tree. The chain grew into her neck and needed to be surgically removed.
I insisted that she would join our family, and there isn't a single regret. Despite her physical deformity around her neck from the surgery, she has a formidable spirit. Full of love, kisses, and energy; she brings joy to everyone she meets.
